PHP for Beginners Course

PHP is the language Facebook is built in. PHP is one of the
most popular server side programming languages in use today. Running on popular
Linux web servers, PHP allows you to turn your website from a static website
into a database driven applications that is capable of storing information in a
MySQL database along with performing advanced functionality or even powering
ecommerce stores using technologies such as WordPress which is PHP based.

If you are using WordPress or a similar content management
system, you are going to be getting familiar with PHP sooner rather than later.
The PHP for beginner’s course is designed to get you up to speed with the core
concepts of PHP that can be used throughout your development activities. We
will not be covering any platform specific PHP such as WordPress, instead this
course is designed to teach you about PHP which you can use in a variety of
ways in the future.

What to Bring

Throughout the course you’ll need a laptop for some of the
interactive parts. If you do not have one, a tablet will suffice or simply work
with another attendee to shadow them. The beginner’s course is 75% theory with
demonstrations throughout and around 25% practical.
